To earn your freedom and independence, you must earn it. I see it as a parent. They won't let you go out if you are rude and disobedient , but if you listen and always do what you are told, I believe that a parent rewards you by giving you your freedom and trust. A person who has freedom and is independent earned this. They listened and did as they were told without being rebellious and they were rewarded. So yes I can agree with this quote because the way I see it and a lot of people see it, freedom is earned not given. If it were given people will grow up thinking that everything in life is easy but in reality, its not like that. Life is hard and from what I have learned through experience life seems to tear you down even when you are doing something right and staying true to yourself. Even that can be hard at times because life throws you obstacles and through that you see your strength. Doing what is right is hard because many times you have to stand alone and be the unique one or in other words the outcast.
