Plastic Surgeon

Duties and Responsibilities: These surgeons work with either repairing a certain area or help celebrities look more youthful. There are actually two categories, The cosmetic surgeon which are the people who do reconstructive surgery and there are the corrective surgeons who operate on people who have had injuries from an accident, birth defect or to improve a bodily function. These surgeons usually work in hospitals or clinics and when it comes to performing the surgery, the work in sterile surgical units.

Salary: $407,709 per year

Education: A Doctor of Medicine or a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine and a  doctor of medicine for 4 years which requires 4 years of training.

              

Reflection: Yes I would like to be a plastic surgeon, But if I were to pursue this career I would want to be the corrective surgeon because I will help those who have had a traumatic event and actually need it.  I want to help those with birth defects and help those who have suffered injuries due to accidents.
