I believe this is very true. When you do something good you get a reward like acing a test and passing the class. This is similar only that the problem becomes real and you have the choice to face it the wrong way or the right way. When you face things the wrong way, you face the consequences. But when you face things the right way not only do you pass it with fewer obstacles but you gain something. You gain respect from others and yourself. You see your dignity as something good and you don't do things which will bring your dignity down. You gain integrity, You become more honest to yourself and to others and you have good morals. Your self-esteem goes up because you learn to value yourself. You learn that people need you at times and you are worth a lot more than you think.

"The reward for doing right is mostly an internal phenomenon: Self-respect, dignity (self-worth) integrity, and self-esteem."
